Mark Ronson, 45, confirms he’s ENGAGED to Meryl Streep’s daughter Grace Gummer, 35

Mark Ronson has confirmed his engagement to Grace Gummer.

The couple sparked rumours they were betrothed last month after the daughter of Meryl Streep was seen wearing a dazzling diamond on her ring finger in London.

Confessing that he’d popped the question, Mark, 45, told The FADER Uncovered podcast: ‘I got engaged last weekend.’

He went on to recall his first kiss with his fiancée, 35, admitting it was a ‘corny’ experience.

Mark quipped: ‘There’s a plaque for that somewhere. There’s a first kiss, very corny Hallmark first kiss plaque.

‘But no, it was forever, it will be etched. It’s still my record.’

Mark and Grace were pictured putting on a loved-up display as they strolled through Mayfair in London at the end of May- with the actress sporting a diamond ring.

What a sparkler: The actress, 35, flaunted her large diamond engagement ring while strolling with her husband-to-be last month

Loved-up: Mark and Grace are thought to have been dating since last year and have both been married before (pictured in London at the end of May)

The couple, who are thought to have been dating for a year, looked absolutely besotted with each other.

Grace cut an effortlessly stylish figure on the walk, rocking black skinny jeans and a long tan jacket styled with a gold necklace and her sparkling ring.

While beaming Mark kept things laid-back in a quirky blue jacket over navy trousers and a black shirt.

It was first reported in March that Mark and Grace were in a relationship with the duo said to have been dating since last year.

Happy: The couple looked absolutely besotted with each other as they held hands in the city

Earlier this year, it was claimed that Mark and Grace were an item after they were first linked in September during a cosy dinner date in New York.

The relationship comes after Mark split from girlfriend Genevieve Gaunt last year, while Grace became single after divorcing husband Tay Strathairn in April 2020.

A source told The Sun in March: ‘He is definitely dating Grace. Things have become romantic.

‘Lockdown restrictions have made things more difficult, especially when he has been back in the UK, but they are seeing how it goes and are getting along.’

Reports: It was first reported in March that Mark and Grace were in a relationship with the duo said to have been dating since last year (Meryl Streep pictured with daughter Grace in 2015)

It was also reported that Mark has already met and won over Grace’s famous mother Meryl, who has been married to sculptor Don Gummer since 1978.

The source added: ‘They seemed to like him, which is a good sign. It would be daunting for any guy to try to charm Meryl Streep.’

This isn’t the first time Mark has dated the off-spring of an A-list star, as in 2003 he proposed to music producer Quincy Jones’ daughter Rashida.

Since then the hitmaker has dated actress Genevieve Gaunt and SNL talent executive Rebecca, after splitting from wife Josephine De La Baume four years ago.

The pair filed for divorce back in 2017 after a little more than five years together and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split.

Finished: Mark previously dated Harry Potter actress Genevieve Gaunt last year (pictured in February 2020)

Over: Mark split from SNL talent executive Rebecca Schwartz in 2019 after a seven-month romance (pictured)

Meanwhile Grace, who has starred in Mr Robot and American Horror Story: Freak Show, filed for divorce from her husband Tay Strathairn in April 2020, just 42 days after the pair tied the knot.

Mark previously told how working in the studio ‘fills a void’ inside him as he often forms close relationships with his collaborators, but said he would trade his achievements for children.

He told Radio Times in October: ‘I’ve never thought that [work] was a replacement for having a family of my own, but I definitely think it fills some of that void more than if I was going to an office.

‘I do have these warm relationships that maybe [satisfy] part of my soul that needs fulfilling. But believe me, I’d trade it in for kids.’

She plays feisty Erin Croft in the Sky One comedy series about a group of hapless friends embroiled in a life of petty crime

And Brassic star Michelle Keegan is set to reprise her role once again as she’s reportedly signed up to feature in another series.

It comes as Brassic is said to have been commissioned for a fourth series following its huge success so far.

Back for more: Brassic star Michelle Keegan is set to reprise her role once again as she’s reportedly signed up to feature in another series

The former Coronation Street actress, 34, is reportedly keen to sign on the dotted line once again.

A source told The Sun: ‘Michelle loves the show and filming as Erin – she jumped at the chance to play her again.’

The third series of the show is set to hit screens later this year, with the run featuring Michelle, co-star Jo Gilgun (Vinnie O’Neill) and other cast members including Damien Molony, Tom Hanson and Aaron Heffernan.

Meanwhile, series two ended on a cliffhanger as Vinnie confessed his true feelings for single mum Erin, just as he was being carted off by the police.

Another run: It comes as Brassic is said to have been commissioned for a fourth series following its huge success so far

As he was being lead away, Erin, who has dated his best pal Dylan, whispered something inaudible in his ear.

Declaring his feelings, Vinnie said: ‘I know it’s wrong, but you’re the first thing in the morning, and you’re the last thing at night.’

He then added he didn’t know ‘how to tell’ how much she means to him.

Brassic follows the story of Lancashire native Vinnie, who suffers from bipolar disorder and his best friend Dylan, played by Damien Molony, from whom he has been inseparable since childhood.

Role: Michelle plays feisty Erin Croft in the Sky One comedy series about a group of hapless friends embroiled in a life of petty crime

A tainted past, the boys have dealt, scammed, bribed and conned their way through adolescence.

Now, on the brink of adulthood, their dealing and stealing is catching up with them, with the repercussions of their crimes heading their way.

Michelle plays alongside them as a single mum seeking a better life for herself and son Tyler (Jude Riordan).

Thrilled: A source told The Sun : ‘Michelle loves the show and filming as Erin – she jumped at the chance to play her again’

While navigating complicated relationships with the show’s leads Dylan and Vinnie, she still strives for a good childhood for her son.

Like many other shows, Brassic’s filming schedule was slightly derailed by the coronavirus pandemic.

Michelle was forced to stop filming the third series of the show last year, in order to isolate, after she was exposed to COVID-19.

But, luckily, the actress didn’t actually contract the potentially deadly virus.

Love story: Meanwhile, series two ended on a cliffhanger as Vinnie confessed his true feelings for single mum Erin, just as he was being carted off by the police

A source told MailOnline at the time: ‘Michelle had to take time away from the Brassic set. She has once again been laying low in Essex with her husband Mark Wright.’

The Brassic insider added at the time: ‘She only missed one day of filming. But she needed to isolate after she came into contact with someone in Manchester who had it.

‘Luckily it all happened very quickly and Michelle did not return to the Brassic set before isolating. So it didn’t affect filming too much.

‘She has spent last two weeks in total isolation. She will go back to filming at the end of this week.’
